Since 2011, Bristol-based DJ and producer Hodge has become an increasingly potent presence at the forefront of UK club music, putting out weighty dancefloor-ready tunes that land in a moody meeting pot of house, techno and dubstep. A signifier of his vital role in Bristol’s musical landscape, he’s released music on Livity Sound and its sister imprint Dnuos Ytivil, Livity co-founder Peverelist’s other label Punch Drunk, Pinch’s Tectonic, and Shanti Celeste’s Peach Discs. Beyond the Bristol hotbed, Jake has put out music on Fabric Records, Houndstooth and Hemlock, collaborated with the likes of Laurel Halo, Tzusing, Randomer and Peder Mannerfelt, and remixed Bruce, Dusky, the mighty Leftfield and DJ Krust. His DJ sets are high-octane, running the bass music gamut, and his productions are distinctive and suspenseful; dubwise techno, urgent and extra-terrestrial synth patterns, and syncopated rhythms. – DJ Mag

“Chris Widman is Equal Parts DJ and Electronic Music Encyclopedia” (Noisey) — Chris Widman is a DJ that defies easy classification. Producer and co-host of the long-running Chicago radio show Abstract Science on WLUW-88.7FM, he is at the forefront of breaking new styles, blurring genre lines and re-introducing forgotten music. When DJing for the dancefloor, Widman is known for his adventurous mixing of tempos and styles, creating his own form of crowd-pleasing sonic warfare. Widman came up in the 90s midwest rave scene, DJing and promoting events with one foot on the dancefloor and the other in the chill room. This duality has followed his performance & curatorial work through club residencies (Smartbar 2001–2003/2008–2012 & Sonotheque 2004-2006), Chicago editions of the Mutek & Sonar festivals, and countless shows, everywhere from Metro & Empty Bottle to the Chicago Cultural Center & Pritzker Pavilion.

TOYACOYAH [tao of amen productions, proper chicago]
Toyacoyah is an indigenous DJ known for blending ancestral rhythms with modern breakbeats. She began her DJ career in the late 90s at the University of Oklahoma, curating beats for her own drum and bass radio show. After moving to Austin, Texas, she became a resident DJ for Mental Note, a night dedicated to liquid funk and jazzy drum and bass. Now based in Chicago, she continues to share her passion for fast-tempo music across the Midwest. Toyacoyah has performed alongside top producers like Addison Groove, Luke Vibert, LTJ Bukem, Roni Size, and Tim Reaper, delivering sets that span electro, breaks, juke, jungle, and more.
