TRENTEMOLLER exclusive interview/feature + new music from MAX COOPER, BONOBO, PESHAY + JON HOPKINS on this week’s episode. MR JOSHUA selects spaced out, mellow house sounds to lead into his interview + featurette with danish electronic-pop sensation ANDERS TRENTEMOLLER. TRENTEMOLLER made a name for himself in the mid-oughties with minimal/tech house 12″ releases on germany’s POKER FLAT label, before reinventing himself as a live electronic performer, channeling synth-pop, manchester bands + elements of dreamy post-punk, through his original DJ framework. though it should be noted that he now performs with a 7-piece band for festival crowds. JOSH follows up the interview with a short set of bass music. for the second hour, MR SELF goes back to laid-back sounds, starting with and balearic + jazz funk sounds–including a recent one from drum n bass legend PESHAY–before moving onto rotating waves of low-slung pop + disco grooves, finally picking up the tempo in the last quarter hour.
