BLADE RUNNER tribute set + music in the spirit of VANGELIS‘ iconic soundtrack on this week’s podcast, hosted by MISTER JOSHUA + LUKE STOKES. To celebrate the release of DENIS VILLENEUVE’s BLADE RUNNER 2049 and honor the 1982 original—specifically its seminal soundtrack from Greek composer VANGELIS—MISTER JOSHUA begins this episode with selections in the spirit of the sci-fi classic, including new music from BEN FROST, FOUR TET + ONEOHTRIX POINT NEVER. VANGELIS’ work on the film has influenced a generation of electronic musicians, from BJORK to TRICKY to producers like KUEDO + IKONIKA, feature here. For the second hour, LUKE STOKES digs deep into the various editions of the film’s soundtrack that have come out since its release, officially and on bootleg.
